身近なものを一つ選び、直接描き、少し色を添え、素直な言葉を書いて、手渡すか郵送します。ゆがんだ線や思いがけない跡も、そのままで大丈夫です。
Choose one familiar object. Draw it directly, add a little colour, write a few true words, then give or post the card. Uneven lines and unexpected marks are welcome.

四つの道をたどる / Follow one four-stage path
道具、観察と線、彩色、言葉と送付の四つの道をたどります。 / Follow one four-stage path: materials, observe and draw, paint, then words and sending.
1 · 道具 / Materials
紙、線を描く道具、色、水だけでも始められます。
Begin with paper, one line tool, colour and water.
2 · よく見て描く / Observe and draw
題材をよく見て、準備を整え、ゆっくり線を描きます。 / Look closely, prepare your space and draw the line slowly.
3 · 彩色する / Paint
薄い色から素早く置き、紙の白を残します。
Place the lighter colour first, leaving some white paper open.
4 · 言葉を添えて
送る / Words and send
一人の相手へ言葉を書き、署名して、手元から送り出します。
Write to one person, sign the card and let it leave your desk.

絵手紙は、友情を運ぶ
A picture letter can carry friendship
コロナ禍で江別の絵手紙サークルが休止した時、仲間たちは長さ七メートルの紙を郵送でつなぐリレー絵手紙を作りました。離れていても、描くことと交流を続けるための作品です。
When the Ebetsu etegami circle paused during COVID closures, the group created a relay on a roll of paper seven metres long. It travelled by post from one person to the next so friends could keep making and reconnecting from home.
このリレー作品は、見る・描く・書く・送ることを通して、人を結ぶ絵手紙の力を伝えています。
The relay shows etegami doing what it does best: connecting people through something observed, drawn, written and sent.
