言葉
Add words

Think of one person and add a brief, honest phrase in your natural handwriting. Value the voice that reaches them over formal calligraphy.

Conversation, not decoration

The words do not need to explain the picture or resemble formal calligraphy. Name a season, a memory, a greeting or the small thing you noticed.

Five steps for adding words

Think of the recipient. Say one true thing. Find a quiet space. Write in your own hand. Read the whole card once.

Ordinary words are enough

A few ordinary words can be enough: “The first tomato”, “Thinking of you”, or “A cool morning”. Your handwriting belongs on the card.

Keep the marks that happened

Uneven lines, unexpected bleeds and open paper all belong to the card. Instead of correcting endlessly, look again and take the next step.
