よく見て、起点から描く
題材をよく見て、果物ならヘタなど、形の手がかりになる部分から描き始めます。
Look closely and begin at a clear point
Look carefully and begin from a clear feature, such as the stem of a fruit.
輪郭を大きく描く
輪郭は、はがきからはみ出すくらい大きく描きます。表面の筋や盛り上がりも、見えた線で残します。
Draw the outline boldly
Draw the outline large enough to reach beyond the postcard. Keep the visible ridges and surface changes in the line.
薄い色から置く
彩色は薄い色から素早く置きます。紙の白を残しながら、主役の色を広げます。
Begin with a light colour
Place the lighter colour first and work quickly, leaving some white paper open.
濃い色を重ねる
次に濃い色を置きます。先に塗った薄い色と重なってもかまいません。
Add a deeper colour
Add a deeper colour next. It may overlap the lighter wash already on the paper.
全部を塗らない
すべてを塗りつぶさず、つやや光を感じる部分に余白を残します。
Stop before everything is filled
Do not fill every area. Leave open paper where highlights and light appear.
細部に色を添える
ヘタや葉などの細部に、黄緑など題材を支える色を少し添えます。
Add colour to the details
Add a little supporting colour, such as yellow-green, to the stem, leaf or another small detail.
要点を一つ強める
切り口など、目を留めたい部分に黄土色などを置き、画面の要点を作ります。
Strengthen one focal detail
Place a little ochre or another deeper note at one focal detail, such as the cut end of a stem.
言葉を添える
最後に短い言葉を添えます。飾りすぎず、自分の言葉と字で書くことを大切にします。
Add your words
Add a brief phrase. Keep it unembellished and write in your own words and handwriting.
名前や落款印を添える
乾いたら名前や自分の落款印を添えます。落款印は任意です。仕上げた一枚を相手へ送りましょう。
Add your name or seal
When dry, add your name or your own seal if you use one. Then let the finished card reach its recipient.
